When I don’t teach, study or am otherwise very seriously engaged, I enjoy volleyball of all shapes and types, (marathon) running, skiing, and hiking across national and state parks, and the wonderful city of Chicago.
I also cannot go to sleep without reading my beloved books in a variety of genres from George R.R. Martin and J. K. Rowling all the way to Heinrich Heine and Haruki Murakami.
Check out my Blog Running from Buffalo where I publish on current events, lifestyle change, marathon training and healthy eating as well as linguistics and fieldwork topics!
Additionally, with my partner I have been working on a venture called 180forward – an eco-tourism and education business based in New Mexico and the Pacific Northwest.
